Housing Choices Near the Intel and Micron campuses in Folsom California

The City of Folsom enjoys a position between the bustling state capitol of Sacramento and the azure shores and popular ski slopes of Lake Tahoe. It’s a wonderful place to call home to extensive local amenities, shopping and nearby natural attractions.

Additionally Folsom residents enjoy the Folsom Lake State recreation area, one of the largest parks in the state system. This area offers swimming, hiking, boating and more.

Folsom is located in Sacramento County but is close to both El Dorado County and Placer County. Here’s an area and market glimpse starting with the City of Folsom.

Great choices include El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Rescue and Placerville. This area is further into the foothills so we start to see larger parcels and bigger trees. It’s nice. The housing prices that follow reflect the communities outline above. This county covers a huge area, much of it is just too far from Micron and Intel to be considered for housing choices.

Placer County is a bit further from Folsom however some transferees may choose to live here. A very popular yet expensive community is Granite Bay. This community boasts the highest ranking schools in the Greater Sacramento area. There are homes and estates here, very few apartments or condos

For more affordable choices in Placer County, transferees could look to Roseville or beyond however they usually do not not. They can obtain similar housing options closer to work in communities that have already been described. This is another large county. Many of it’s communities are just too far from Folsom to be convenient.
